MC82/84 is a two course sequence whose full name is Design and Development of Computer Based Instruction I & II.  It is the capstone sequence for one of the three options within the Master of Science in Instructional Design & Technology at Philadelphia University.

In this course, a team of graduate students works with a real world client to produce a computer based instructional product (perhaps a CD or a Website) for a specific audience of learners in a specific context.

Usually, the teams include four students, each of whom plays one of the following key roles in the design and development of a computer based instructional product: Graphic Designer, Instructional Designer, Project Manager, and Developer.

In the case of the MC82/84 sequence that will be producing one or more modules for the Bridging the Technology Gap grant, the team will consist of two graduate students (Becky Tunnell and Suzanna McGee) and the instructor (Tim McGee) who will also play one or more team roles.

The client (at least for year one of the grant) will be the Yukon Flats School District, and the learners will be a group of Alaskan youth who will attend a computer camp in the summer of 2004.

The content areas for which we will produce a computer based instructional product will be marketing and e-commerce.
